CHOOSING THE RIGHT TIRES

Your tires are the only part of your vehicle that touch the road, so choosing the right set matters more than many drivers realize. From stopping distance to fuel efficiency and overall safety, the right tires make a measurable difference in how your vehicle performs throughout the year.

In York Region, where conditions shift from hot summers to icy winters, understanding your tire options helps you stay safe and get the most value from your investment.

  • All-Season Tires

    All-Season Tires

All-season tires are built for everyday driving and year-round convenience. They perform best above 7°C, delivering a smooth, quiet ride in dry and wet conditions, but lose grip as temperatures drop. Ideal for drivers who want simplicity and mainly drive in mild weather.

  • Winter Tires

    Winter Tires

Winter tires are built for cold weather, using softer rubber and deeper tread to maintain grip on snow and ice. They offer the shortest stopping distances in winter but wear faster and lose performance above 10°C. Best for drivers who prioritize safety and control in cold conditions.

  • Summer Tires

    Summer Tires

Summer tires are built for warm-weather performance, delivering maximum grip, precise handling, and strong braking. They work best above 15°C but lose traction in cold conditions. Ideal for drivers focused on performance and handling in warmer months.

WHEN TO REPLACE
YOUR TIRES

Knowing when to replace your tires is key to staying safe on our Aurora roads. Tread depth directly impacts traction and braking. At 6/32” or more, performance is strong. Between 4/32” and 5/32”, traction begins to drop and replacement is recommended. Below 4/32” for all-season and summer tires, or below 9/64” for winter tires, conditions become unsafe and tires should be replaced.

Our tire shop makes seasonal changes easier with simple, affordable tire storage. It’s a convenient, no hassle tire storage solution for drivers across York Region.

HOW TO READ TIRE SIZE

Tire sizing is a simple code that tells you what fits your vehicle. Most drivers focus on three key numbers, like 195/65R15.

In this example, 195 is the tire width in millimetres, 65 is the aspect ratio (sidewall height as a percentage of width), and 15 is the wheel diameter in inches. You’ll also see a load index (89), showing how much weight the tire can support, and a speed rating (H), indicating its maximum safe speed.
