The 2026 Highlander showcases a bold, sculpted exterior that emphasizes both style and aerodynamic efficiency. Highlander Hybrid models are offered in three grades and feature Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system. This setup combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motor-generators and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Total system output is 243 horsepower, with an impressive combined fuel efficiency rating of 6.7 L per 100 kilometres. Towing capacity is rated at 1,588 kg, or 3,500 pounds. Hybrid models use an electronic on-demand AWD system with a rear-mounted electric motor that engages when additional traction is needed.
