Toyota Leads Canada in Resale Value for 2025

Toyota Canadian Black Book Awards

Toyota earns seven Best Retained Value Awards from Canadian Black Book in 2025

Toyota Canada has been recognized with seven Best Retained Value Awards for 2025 by Canadian Black Book, reinforcing the brand’s long-standing reputation for durability, reliability, and long-term ownership value.

The Canadian Black Book Best Retained Value Awards highlight vehicles that hold the highest percentage of their original manufacturer’s suggested retail price after four years of ownership. For the 2025 awards, Canadian Black Book evaluated 2022 model year vehicles across 15 individual vehicle segments, along with four overall brand categories. Toyota stood out by earning the Overall Brand Award in the Mainstream category, in addition to multiple segment wins.

According to Toyota Canada, these results reflect a consistent focus on building vehicles that deliver dependable performance and lasting value for Canadian drivers. Robert Tsang, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Toyota Canada, noted that the recognition speaks to the trust customers place in the brand and the long-term quality engineered into every vehicle. He also emphasized Toyota’s commitment to offering a broad and diverse lineup that fits different lifestyles, needs, and budgets across Canada.

Toyota received Best Retained Value Awards in the following categories:

  • Overall Brand Award – Mainstream
  • Mainstream Car – Toyota Corolla
  • Mainstream Plug-in Hybrid – Toyota RAV4 Prime
  • Small and Mid-Size Pickup – Toyota Tacoma
  • Full-Size Pickup – Toyota Tundra
  • Mainstream Sub-Compact and Compact SUV – Toyota C-HR
  • Mainstream Mid and Full-Size SUV – Toyota 4Runner

Beyond the category wins, Toyota vehicles also dominated the podium in two key segments. In the Mainstream Car category, the Toyota Camry earned second place, followed by the Toyota Prius in third. In the Mainstream Sub-Compact and Compact SUV category, the Canada-assembled Toyota RAV4 placed second, while the Toyota Corolla Cross secured third.

These results underscore Toyota’s continued investment in offering a full spectrum of vehicles, including passenger cars, SUVs, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and trucks. For Canadian buyers, strong retained value can translate into lower long-term ownership costs, stronger resale prices, and greater confidence when leasing or trading in a vehicle.
